The way she handles sensitive topics such as rape, domestic violence, infanticide, prostitution, etc. If I were to discuss the book purely based on its content, I'd reach the harsh conclusion that it could have been better. If you're afraid this book will just paint women as victims, as Eves who have been framed, don't be. The given statistics will convince you of the existence of prejudice and double standards for women everywhere in the court: whether it is behind the Bar or the bars.

Ancient, alienating tradition continues into the courtroom, with wigs, robes and pompous jargon designed to make the defendant feel uncomfortable. Sexuality was briefly referenced, but there was no reference to the complexities of gender in terms of trans and non-binary people's experiences, or to the experiences of disabled women who are also disproportionately likely to experience violence. e. the group who are far more likely to be the perpetrators than the survivors of this particular crime.

Kennedy’s arguments are supported by brutal and gut-wrenching examples of cases which she has first hand knowledge of.What is great about this book is that there are numerous real-life examples and cases given, allowing a greater insight to Kennedy's statements. There is still a troubling, largely unconscious, perception that entitlement to a woman's body is something that can be debated.
